A parlay combines multiple individual bets (legs) into a single wager. All legs must win for the parlay to pay out. The combined odds multiply together, offering a larger payout but lower probability of winning.
Each leg's American odds are converted to decimal odds, then all decimal odds are multiplied together. The result is the combined decimal odds. For example, two legs at -110 each: 1.909 × 1.909 = 3.645, which is about +265 in American odds.
Parlays offer higher payouts but are harder to win. Mathematically, parlays have higher expected loss than individual bets because the sportsbook's margin compounds with each leg. However, if you find +EV legs, a parlay of +EV bets is also +EV.
Most sportsbooks remove the pushed leg and recalculate the parlay with the remaining legs. A 4-leg parlay with one push becomes a 3-leg parlay. Some books may void the entire parlay, so check your sportsbook's rules.
