A teaser is a type of parlay where you get to adjust the point spread or total in your favor on every leg. In exchange for better lines, the payout is lower than a standard parlay. The most common format is a 6-point, 2-leg NFL teaser at -110.
The break-even win rate is the per-leg win percentage you need so that your parlay probability (win rate raised to the power of the number of legs) equals the inverse of the decimal payout. If P^n = 1/decimal, then P = (1/decimal)^(1/n).
A teaser is profitable when your estimated per-leg win rate exceeds the break-even win rate. The most well-known profitable teaser strategy involves "Wong teasers" — 2-leg 6-point NFL teasers that cross key numbers like 3 and 7.
EV (expected value) per leg measures the average profit or loss per $1 wagered on the teaser, based on your estimated win rate. A positive EV means the teaser is expected to be profitable over time.
